Something new is coming to James Street…and we’re kind of flipping out about it.
Grab the nearest guy and start spreading the news, because Calexico’s flagship menswear store, Calexico Man is opening its doors on October 28th!
Born from Calexico Director, Nicky Charman’s love of menswear and passion for customer service, Calexico Man will be sitting pretty on the corner of James and Robertson Streets in Fortitude Valley, just across the street from the Calexico women’s store.
Calexico Man will stock Brisbane’s most diverse selection of men’s denim, as well as sneakers, tees, and basics from international labels including Rag & Bone, Theory, Vince, Saturdays NYC, Acne, American Vintage, Philippe Model, and more.
“I saw there was an opening in the market for a menswear destination that offered quality street wear basics with luxury service,” says Nicky.
“We believe that service is everything,” says Nicky. “I don’t think men’s dressing needs to be complicated. Calexico Man’s mission is to take the fuss out of shopping for men. We’re here to make it easy. ”
“Our team of personal stylists are trained in men’s tailoring, so we can offer a truly seamless shopping experience. Calexico Man will offer complimentary tailoring to all clients.”
“The concept for the store has been in the works for five years. I have a background in men’s fashion and I knew there would come a time when I wanted to explore this avenue again. Calexico Man is our first official foray into menswear, and opens seven years to the day since we launched Calexico,” she says.
“We’re excited to bring the Calexico experience to a new audience, and invite you to come in store and check it out.”
To celebrate the opening of Calexico Man we’ve teamed up with local artist, Jake Reston, for James St.’s RESORT festival. Jake will be in store on opening day installing a live art mural, with the first 200 customers in store on the day receiving a free print.
