New York Fashion Week has wrapped for another February, and while we can’t currently stomach the thought of coat season, we were left with some tantalising tastes of things to come in store at Calexico, with some of our favourite designers dropping stunning new season collections.
These are the looks fresh of the runway we’re currently coveting, from Calexico designers including Rag & Bone, Ulla Johnson, Cinq-a-Sept, and Jonathan Simkhai.
Ulla Johnson : Ethereal Perfection
With a reputation for floaty frocks, Ulla Johnson’s 2018 fall collection delivered on the dress front, with a few trousers thrown in for good measure. The show marked her brand’s 20th anniversary, and the collection had a playful nod to her ’90s roots. We think we’re in love.
Cinq à Sept : True Romance
Cinq à Sept has high romance femininity down to a fine art. The 2018 Fall collection was all jewel toned corduroy suiting, ruffles, sequins, and slips, and we’re suitably smitten.
Rag & Bone : Colour Play
Rag & Bone has eschewed a traditional runway show to put the emphasis back on the clothes, and we couldn’t be happier. The show was classic R&B – perfect tailoring, serious street appeal – expect for the unexpected splashes of bold colour and hints of neon (we’re more than a tad excited that the epic red and pink boots are available in store this season!).
Jonathan Simkhai : All Woman
Jonathan Simkhai has always been about making clothes that look good on women, and this season he’s taken the girl-power message one step further, referencing the suffragettes in his fall ’18 collection. As usual, Simkhai has impressed with his easy femininity and dreamy dresses. We’ll take one of everything.
